Based on the severity and classification, it can be managed with blood transfusions and chelation therapy. Haemoglobin is a component of the RBCs in blood that carries oxygen via blood. Abnormal haemoglobin are variants of haemoglobin that are not normally found in blood. Presence of abnormal haemoglobin variants may indicate blood disorders or haemoglobinopathies. Most of these disorders have a genetic or familial mutation component which needs to be analysed.
